Day 2
The next morning, everyone in our room (5 guys) woke up at 4:00 and thought it was time to get up. We went back to bed when we saw what time it was and woke up at 7:30 to go to breakfast. I accidentally went to the wrong area to eat (the buffet breakfast), and the hotel staff let me stay anyway. Our hotel breakfasts consisted of bread (croissants), fruit, yogurt, frozen cheese (i did not like this), and cereal (chocolate rice crispies).

The first thing we visited this day was Notre Dame. I don't have a ton of things to say about the history or much about the pictures. I'll add some comments here and there. Sorry if some of the pictures are dark, i didn't want to use the flash.
This stone circle is called "Point Zero", and all of the streets in Paris are branched out from here.
I started in the front of the Cathedral...
...then we went inside (it was very cold, so we did not go outside much)....

...then i took a walk around the outside of the cathedral.

Around the outside were some statues of different saints. Apparently there was a story/legend that a fan got his head chopped off and then walked all the way to Notre Dame from across town. He is pictured here.

Next, we went to the Crypt. It was a little museum under the Notre Dame with real remains of older buildings from a long time ago. I didn't think it was that interesting, so I only took one picture.

They had a little model of Notre Dame down there.

We then walked from Notre Dame across the river to the Latin Quarter. This place had a bunch of different shops and places to eat. There wasn't really anything to take a picture of here. I had another panini for lunch. This is a picture of the river we crossed.
After eating and shopping, we walked over to the Louvre to take pictures of the outside (we went in it later in the trip)

After walking by the Louvre we went back to the hotel to grab our bags and went to the train station to go to Nantes. It was cold out, so the train could only go about 150 mph (!). It took us about 2 hours to get there. We had our own car to ourselves, and played some card games to pass the time.
In Nantes, Grove City owns/rents two Apartment/houses. They have three floors. The top two in each are bedrooms, and the ground floor is a living/dining room and kitchen. We didn't hang out here that much except at night. When we got in to Nantes, we had a little orientation about house rules, and then went to bed.

2 Comments:
I didn't realize how stinking big Notre Dame is until I saw that little model of it. It has so many more arms to it than I realized. Also, I know this is me being dumb, but is that a mini arc?
Sort of. Again, i don't really know the significance. My guess would be that Napoleon made it as an homage to himself. I think he might be the guy on top (in gold)
